NITW Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching For Employees

Connecting neurodivergent employees with what they need to thrive

How NITW Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching can Help?

Workplaces weren’t built with neurodivergent ways of being in mind. As a result, neurodivergent employees are tasked with navigating systemic, daily barriers just to get their needs met in the workplace.
NITW Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching aims to help bridge this gap by connecting neurodivergent folks with what they need to thrive in the workplace.
Through 1:1 personalized coaching, a designated Neurodiversity Workplace Coach works collaboratively with employees to learn about their role, assess what working and not working, and identify solutions aimed at getting needs met.
NITW’s Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching is rooted in the values of the neurodiversity movement. Our coaching framework is informed by the social model of disability, diversity in social intelligence, and a nuanced understanding of the various strengths and challenges neurodivergent individuals experience. Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching is delivered through a peer to peer model and utilizes a strengths based approach.
Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching can be a resource for:
Preventing and recovering from burnout
Navigating executive dysfunction
Processing stressors related to work

How to request NITW Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching from your employer

Because Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching is 100% employer sponsored, you’ll need to request the service through them. Funding for Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching can generally come from one of two places: Accommodations, or your business unit’s professional development budget.

01
Accommodations route

All employers of a certain size are required to provide disabled employees with reasonable accommodations– adjustments that make a role more accessible for a given individual. One on one coaching is a commonly requested accommodation for neurodivergent professionals.

Accessing NITW Neurodiversity Workplace Coaching through a formal accommodation:

Likely requires a formal diagnosis from company

May involve getting a letter of support from your healthcare provider

2

3

Make an official accommodation request with your employer. Include your provider letter and this PDF explaining NITW SC.

4

If approved, your employer will follow next steps to purchase SC and get the service set up on your behalf.

Note that requesting NWC as an accommodation does not guarantee that you will receive it. It’s possible that your request is rejected, or that your employer will suggest a provider besides NITW to deliver coaching. For more information on job coaching as an accommodation, see JAN.
